I have a problem. And that problem is that I keep buying books. I can’t help myself! I love books! I love supporting authors! I love looking at all their beautiful covers on my shelves! They bring me joy!
Okay, maybe that isn’t really a problem. But what is an issue is the fact that it takes me forever to even read most of the books I buy. Most of my shelves at this point consist of unread books. I can tell you for certain that I wouldn’t have hundreds of books if I’d actually read all of these already, because if I don’t absolutely love a book and either a) plan to reread it, b) loan it out to all of my friends because I think they should read it too, or c) am just so obsessed with the cover that I absolutely cannot part with it, I don’t keep books.
Every year, I buy a lot of books. But I also donate a lot of books. My local librarians undoubtedly let out a groan every time they see me hauling bags upon bags of books inside. Plus, more recently, I’ve started giving away boxes of books to people who follow me on my various social media. I’m extremely privileged because I can afford to buy all of these books, but it’s not the same for everyone. And if I can give people the ability to discover new (to them) traditionally published books, I absolutely will.
It seems like one of my lingering “new year, new me!” goals is to make a dent in my physical TBR pile, one that just keeps growing and growing and growing. In 2019 I made a list of all the unread books in my house, and let me tell you… a lot of those books still haven’t been read. You’ll probably see a majority of them on this list. Whoops.
Anyway, if you want to know what’s in my physical TBR pile, read on!

Okay, whew! That’s a lot of books! But I will admit… these aren’t all of the unread books in my house, they’re just the ones that were the most easily accessible. I have more in boxes that I plan to go through one day, but today is not that day!
Have you read any of the books on this list? Which ones did you like/dislike? Any extra recommendations for me? Let me know in the comments!

The struggle. I can’t help but buy books so my list of TBR is constantly growing….I fully understand your struggle. I am trying to for every book I buy, I need to read within the coming month. I am trying this for 2021. 🙂 GOod luck with your TBR pile 🙂

That’s a really smart system! I’m trying to put myself on a (physical) book buying ban (minus the ones I’ve already preordered haha) for the next six or so months. Ebooks however… well, that’s a different story 😂 Good luck with your TBR pile as well!
