Here’s the deal: I like books. I really like books. I like books so much that I keep buying them.
Unfortunately, I don’t read them all in a very timely manner. No, there are books on my shelves that I bought years ago and still haven’t cracked open just yet. It’s not that I don’t want to read them—I do, I really do—it’s just that the stack has grown so large that I feel like I’ll never get through them all.
(Of course, I don’t make my life any easier by buying more books every single month, both physical and ebooks, but that’s a story for another day!)
One of my goals for this year is to try to tackle this ever-growing TBR pile, and I figured the best way to hold myself accountable (and generally help myself stay organized) was to list them all here.
So if you want to know what’s in my physical TBR pile, read on!
On this list, you’ll find books from two shelves of my TBR bookcase. Yes, I have an entire TBR bookcase. Yes, I am slightly ashamed. No, I’ll never stop buying books!!!
There are probably even more unread books scattered throughout my house and other shelves, but these were the ones I could easily find. Also, I’m sticking to fiction, even though a decent portion of the bookcase is non-fiction. I’ll get to those… eventually!

At the end of 2019, I hope I can return to this list and be able to say that I tackled at least a fourth of this list. Will I have acquired more physical books by then? Oh, that’s a given, my friend! But they can go on a new list for a new year.
Are there any particular books on this list you think I should definitely try to read? Are there some you think I should avoid? Is your TBR pile similarly huge? Let me know in the comments!
I recommend reading P.S. I Still Love You just because they are following up with a sequel on Netflix. 😄

i own The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi.
not sure when I bought it or where I got it, but it was a interesting read.
i’m Indian and this book is somewhat based on Indian mythology.
it felt like a combination of the myths I grew up reading, the romance fantasies i’ ve dreamed up, and the adventure stories that I love.
it’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but some of the ideas and fantastical elements are just so mystical? and beautiful? i suppose that’s the best way i can describe it.

Ooh, that definitely sounds like a book I want to read soon! I really love all of those elements!

You need to read All the Rage. It’s a very important book dealing with very very relevant issues. And the characters (some of them) are the most amazing people of all times. I loved loved Six of Crows. This was of my favorite reads of 2018 and though it looks big, you are going to breeze through it! Books like these two are the ones that make me fall in love with reading time and time again, like they are so beautiful they make me realize the beauty of reading all over again. Hope you enjoy them! xoxox

Definitely read Winter by Marissa Meyer I believe that’s the last book in the series. But I absolutely loved it.

Throne of Glass and Winter should be in your top priority lists. (Just saying)
But they are amazing and worth the time (in my opinion)
It’s your choice, after all.

I’ve read the Red Queen series and it was pretty amazing! If you like that whole “sick love triangle with a lot of blood” type of thing. The first book was most definitely my favourite — or the third, Kings Cage, actually. The plot is amazing and so is the character development throughout the series, I think you’d really, really like it.

I’ve read some of these books and I have to be honest, I’m a major YA fantasy nerd. Six of crows is genuinely one of the best books I’ve ever read and is so diverse and I even bought it after I had read it because I loved it that much! Throne of glass has a compelling storyline that gets better as the books go on, but it does have a major lack of characters that are POC. Red Queen is also one of my favourites, but contrary to Throne Of Glass, I think they downgrade slightly across all four books, but they’re all still worth reading. I’d love to know your opinions on them!!

I’m so, so excited to read SOC, and hearing this has made me even *more* excited for it haha. As soon as I get through a massive pile of library books, I think it’s going to be next on my list! Thank you for the recs!

I don’t really read a lot of the popular YA books because I, too, have a ridiculously long TBR list, although I would definitely suggest reading Winter, and Fairest (a novella about Levana). It’s so great to see what happens to the Rampion gang, and Marissa Meyer’s plotlines and writing are fantastic.
I would recommend reading P.S I Still Love You for completeness’ sake, if nothing else. Personally, I thought TATBILB was the best in the trilogy, but then John Ambrose McClaren is introduced in this book and he’s my favourite of all the characters in the series. So I guess he’s another reason you should read P.S I Still Love You.

I read P.S. I Still Love You this month, and boy, I am definitely team John Ambrose McClaren now haha. But yeah, I definitely plan to finish that series and read Winter (and Fairest) sometime soon as well!

I highly highly recommend “Autoboyography” by Christina Lauren! It is a beautiful and sweet YA gay love story that is the perfect amounts of easy-read (perfect for after a long day when you just want to fall into a book) and substantial (it really respectfully and intelligently looks at LGBT rights within the mormon church, as one of the love interests is the son of a preacher). I was in a huge reading slump before I picked up this book (I hadn’t read a full book in like a year), and then I ended up reading this whole thing in one sitting. I seriously can not recommend this enough.

I feel like I’m eventually going to end up reading every Christina Lauren book there is 😂 But I’ll definitely add that one to my list! Thank you for the rec! It definitely sounds like something I’d love to read.
